Script >>  Storyboard >> Concept Art >> VFX test >> Casting >> Making Props >> Filming >> VFX >>  Sound >> Making trailer

Some people asked me to hurry up with the movie. I guess it started to be a real "time challenge" from yesterday evening. What happened? I was casting young actors for the main child character. And I chosen. I must to make filming of all scenes contains him in very short while (because children growing fast)... Some expensive Hollywood movies became more expensive because of children growing stuff. They were needed to change voice, adjust proportions and even recast the actor because of he were too grown.

Any way I had to stop developing the disaster scene (it's not contains children) and started to create a lot of animatic storyboards of all the scenes containing the child. Good that the designs of all locations are been done already.

Here are some rendered screen-shots: (I'm not showing the done sequences to keep the last product more interesting )

Those I call Light reference. I will use the information about light, shadows and reflections to make a the best Green Screen shots.

Here is another one rendered screen... Actually because file.blend of the location is done, so I can put there a low poly people and animate them using information from the script.
Those renders are just single picture from the animation.

Here is an example of the animation rendered in Open Gl (this one you already seen ones, I made an new updated version of this.) And I love new Open Gl Blender backgrounds :D

Hello there. Yesterday I had almost nothing to show because of Holidays laziness. But this night I've done a lot of good stuff...
This is the render I've got yesterday and it looks a bit boring. The chaos part of the disaster is too ruff.. No little details that could make it look better. So first of all I decided to put more peaces with the same material into the scene. To feel it like they were actually distracted.

Here how it looks with smaller details. Any way This render isn't perfect because details aren't small enough. On the picture you can find a truck and imagine human size against the smaller parts so I will need to put more little parts in future.
Those parts were about 2000, but while simulation some of them felt through the ground and I deleted them. Now there about 1000 peaces.
Next part was to distract the bridge. First I deformed him (it made of metallic plastic type material) and then I separated a part of him that I want to fall. This part I fractured by Cell Fracture add-on and simulated as Rigid-bodies.

The last step were adding the trees on background.

This were done using particle system. I drawn a Weight where trees are needed to be and made 5 polygonal trees. (each one has 5 polygons).

Renders extremely fast... I cannot believe it.

Anyway the VIDEO that explain it a bit more.

Hello. Here is me back from Holidays. Almost nothing been done since last post so I gonna be in very minimalistic details.

Here is some rocks... :D Yeahh rocks that I've done looking at one of the pictures of real disaster. But soon realized that it has no relation to the script. Those rocks are mostly natural. And I need broken structures of futuristic buildings... Yeahh.
I have to design it little bit deeper.

This is a Render of the beginning. Here will be a lot more disaster... Work in progress actually.

Anyway I was working on tests about physics. I found that I need metallic objects to deform be each other. Those physics are not available still in Blender so I tried to hack those trough the Cloth simulation and Soft bodies... Accidentally, but actually awesome happened that a plane been deformed to a shape of a pillow. I was so liking this effect so I even made a tutorial of that.

As I said (you can find if you'll scroll a little) the disaster scene wasn't great enough, so I decided to develop it step by step perfectly.

First what I need is to know where is actual disaster happening in what time. For this questions I looking to the script and see "Israel, Future" ok. Next step is to make the map for such scene
To know what are building in future israel looks like so I made a map of the place.

Then next step was to build an actual scene before disaster. For some perfect reason I was working on this about half year and almost done the scene before even start shotting.

Ok we've got a scene without disaster and the plan in the script how it gonna be destroy.

Next step is was to build the directions map of distraction. For that I used printed render from the top of the scene and pen.

This map helped me to build a simple simulation animation. Using the simulation as a reference I will create the actual scene part by part. And feel it down to look like a craziness..

Hello guys, here are few thoughts about the project that we doing here in Violence Children Studio, now we are working at a scene where the character waking up in disaster location. Forest between a buildings in the town and a river.

I had Imagining the scene and thought that it would be not a big problem to make such in Blender. So I didn't worked in this direction almost. I had the storyboard and the storyboard CGI of the scene but no actual map.

I was mostly care about the emotional aspect but about the actual scene I forgot.

Actually it would not be a big deal if the scene wasn't need have a huge amount of details. I mean I thought to put few peaces of concrete around the actor and done with it. Maybe turn on some fire stuff around. But to look deeply there is a 3 huge building been crashed and one train bridge fallen. And don't forget about cars, stuff that people having in their homes and the people bodies they self. I mean I have a lot to work at steel.

Here are few examples. Here is the scene that I've done 2 days ago in Blender.

You can see some fire, concrete parts that not looks perfect and a mark for an actor....

And here is a references I found in Internet

There are a lot of details. Parts of buildings, cars (I guess bodies were removed before to make the pictures) And no alive grass....

I have to work harder, this scares me.... The team will be scared too.

Hello. I guess that one of the takes are done... Mostly I don't wanna say sure, because the take isn't perfect anyway I like it.

Look at this.

Other think, I try to develop the location witch isn't easy... I had quite confused about this. There must be a Disaster Rain Forest scene... I have no even references found about this...
This is a test render of the location... If someone knows where to find the references please send a link.... Thank you... Bye

Finally filming the actual movie. I'm so excited about the first filming day yesterday... Today I was working on keying one of the pictures and re-compositing it to look something similar to what i would like to see in the end.

We was shooting on Samsung Galaxie 5 witch has ability to shot in 4k video intill 120 frames per second... In this scene I used only 30 frames per second. Then I discovered little bad thing. That my PC (laptop) is can-not run 4k video in a right time... I mean that the phone is faster than the computer. Any way the movie will be done in final on Full HD 1920/1080 so I don't very much care.

I bought a costume for the rain scene... Made this wet ant cut some holes in it for to look like a disaster movie... The actor Shmuel Shagalov wanted to kill me....

Here is a picture from Green Screen With all the water on him.

Script >>  Storyboard >> Concept Art >> VFX test >> Casting >> Making Props >> Filming >> VFX >>  Sound >> Making trailer

Here I'm back with another little test
For this one I used a real Gun prop and made a fire in Blender... Sounds are recorded by me in Audacity. Used the prop sound click and few voice sound as "Bumsh, Bdush, Brramsh" Together with a little of editing sound not bad, (for the movie it self I guess will design other sounds)

I had another few test recorded on camera, but by attempt of making them out I realized that I have no idea in how to track 3D stuff in Blender's tracking system... A lot of misunderstander settings... If someone knows a tutorial or a book that can explain it more deeply, please give a link.
