Script >>  Storyboard >> Concept Art >> VFX test >> Casting >> Making Props >> Filming >> VFX >>  Sound >> Making trailer

Some people asked me to hurry up with the movie. I guess it started to be a real "time challenge" from yesterday evening. What happened? I was casting young actors for the main child character. And I chosen. I must to make filming of all scenes contains him in very short while (because children growing fast)... Some expensive Hollywood movies became more expensive because of children growing stuff. They were needed to change voice, adjust proportions and even recast the actor because of he were too grown.

Any way I had to stop developing the disaster scene (it's not contains children) and started to create a lot of animatic storyboards of all the scenes containing the child. Good that the designs of all locations are been done already.

Here are some rendered screen-shots: (I'm not showing the done sequences to keep the last product more interesting )

Those I call Light reference. I will use the information about light, shadows and reflections to make a the best Green Screen shots.

Here is another one rendered screen... Actually because file.blend of the location is done, so I can put there a low poly people and animate them using information from the script.
Those renders are just single picture from the animation.

Here is an example of the animation rendered in Open Gl (this one you already seen ones, I made an new updated version of this.) And I love new Open Gl Blender backgrounds :D

Hello there. Yesterday I had almost nothing to show because of Holidays laziness. But this night I've done a lot of good stuff...
This is the render I've got yesterday and it looks a bit boring. The chaos part of the disaster is too ruff.. No little details that could make it look better. So first of all I decided to put more peaces with the same material into the scene. To feel it like they were actually distracted.

Here how it looks with smaller details. Any way This render isn't perfect because details aren't small enough. On the picture you can find a truck and imagine human size against the smaller parts so I will need to put more little parts in future.
Those parts were about 2000, but while simulation some of them felt through the ground and I deleted them. Now there about 1000 peaces.
Next part was to distract the bridge. First I deformed him (it made of metallic plastic type material) and then I separated a part of him that I want to fall. This part I fractured by Cell Fracture add-on and simulated as Rigid-bodies.

The last step were adding the trees on background.

This were done using particle system. I drawn a Weight where trees are needed to be and made 5 polygonal trees. (each one has 5 polygons).

Renders extremely fast... I cannot believe it.

Anyway the VIDEO that explain it a bit more.

Hello. Here is me back from Holidays. Almost nothing been done since last post so I gonna be in very minimalistic details.

Here is some rocks... :D Yeahh rocks that I've done looking at one of the pictures of real disaster. But soon realized that it has no relation to the script. Those rocks are mostly natural. And I need broken structures of futuristic buildings... Yeahh.
I have to design it little bit deeper.

This is a Render of the beginning. Here will be a lot more disaster... Work in progress actually.

Anyway I was working on tests about physics. I found that I need metallic objects to deform be each other. Those physics are not available still in Blender so I tried to hack those trough the Cloth simulation and Soft bodies... Accidentally, but actually awesome happened that a plane been deformed to a shape of a pillow. I was so liking this effect so I even made a tutorial of that.

As I said (you can find if you'll scroll a little) the disaster scene wasn't great enough, so I decided to develop it step by step perfectly.

First what I need is to know where is actual disaster happening in what time. For this questions I looking to the script and see "Israel, Future" ok. Next step is to make the map for such scene
To know what are building in future israel looks like so I made a map of the place.

Then next step was to build an actual scene before disaster. For some perfect reason I was working on this about half year and almost done the scene before even start shotting.

Ok we've got a scene without disaster and the plan in the script how it gonna be destroy.

Next step is was to build the directions map of distraction. For that I used printed render from the top of the scene and pen.

This map helped me to build a simple simulation animation. Using the simulation as a reference I will create the actual scene part by part. And feel it down to look like a craziness..

Hello guys, here are few thoughts about the project that we doing here in Violence Children Studio, now we are working at a scene where the character waking up in disaster location. Forest between a buildings in the town and a river.

I had Imagining the scene and thought that it would be not a big problem to make such in Blender. So I didn't worked in this direction almost. I had the storyboard and the storyboard CGI of the scene but no actual map.

I was mostly care about the emotional aspect but about the actual scene I forgot.

Actually it would not be a big deal if the scene wasn't need have a huge amount of details. I mean I thought to put few peaces of concrete around the actor and done with it. Maybe turn on some fire stuff around. But to look deeply there is a 3 huge building been crashed and one train bridge fallen. And don't forget about cars, stuff that people having in their homes and the people bodies they self. I mean I have a lot to work at steel.

Here are few examples. Here is the scene that I've done 2 days ago in Blender.

You can see some fire, concrete parts that not looks perfect and a mark for an actor....

And here is a references I found in Internet

There are a lot of details. Parts of buildings, cars (I guess bodies were removed before to make the pictures) And no alive grass....

I have to work harder, this scares me.... The team will be scared too.

Hello. I guess that one of the takes are done... Mostly I don't wanna say sure, because the take isn't perfect anyway I like it.

Look at this.

Other think, I try to develop the location witch isn't easy... I had quite confused about this. There must be a Disaster Rain Forest scene... I have no even references found about this...
This is a test render of the location... If someone knows where to find the references please send a link.... Thank you... Bye

Finally filming the actual movie. I'm so excited about the first filming day yesterday... Today I was working on keying one of the pictures and re-compositing it to look something similar to what i would like to see in the end.

We was shooting on Samsung Galaxie 5 witch has ability to shot in 4k video intill 120 frames per second... In this scene I used only 30 frames per second. Then I discovered little bad thing. That my PC (laptop) is can-not run 4k video in a right time... I mean that the phone is faster than the computer. Any way the movie will be done in final on Full HD 1920/1080 so I don't very much care.

I bought a costume for the rain scene... Made this wet ant cut some holes in it for to look like a disaster movie... The actor Shmuel Shagalov wanted to kill me....

Here is a picture from Green Screen With all the water on him.

Script >>  Storyboard >> Concept Art >> VFX test >> Casting >> Making Props >> Filming >> VFX >>  Sound >> Making trailer

Here I'm back with another little test
For this one I used a real Gun prop and made a fire in Blender... Sounds are recorded by me in Audacity. Used the prop sound click and few voice sound as "Bumsh, Bdush, Brramsh" Together with a little of editing sound not bad, (for the movie it self I guess will design other sounds)

I had another few test recorded on camera, but by attempt of making them out I realized that I have no idea in how to track 3D stuff in Blender's tracking system... A lot of misunderstander settings... If someone knows a tutorial or a book that can explain it more deeply, please give a link.

Hello Guys, People, Old Men, Kids, Ladies and Gentlemen... Here is a new VFX test for the Wrong Hate Movie Project...

Deal is a GUN... As movie is about future and robots there is must be some weapon against the robots in future... Don miss the point... The deal is a Gun, futuristic gun.

OK I know that I could take a futuristic Gun toy in a toy store and use it, but I want to design every futuristic thing alone.

This is and design that I've done in Blender... (CGI) (Computer Generated Images)

So then I made from cheap material same gun... I mean the shape of the gun in real size and painted on him a lot of trackers...

I was guessing that I could replace the prop with the CGI version ... So yeahh

Tests yeaah ... Look

There is a very bad weather in the town so I cannot work with the actors in the forest... Another think that the actor do not want to lay on cold ground in home closes, wet... So I decided to make another challenge, to shoot on green screen and make the forest in Blender...
I needed to test texturing and modeling stuff to understand how to make the complex forest scene... Here is a little peace of forest...
I hope you like it...

Script >>  Storyboard >> Concept Art >> VFX test >> Casting >> Making Props >> Filming >> VFX >>  Sound >> Making trailer

I was thinking to use cameras like Cannon 5d or Red Epic for the film. With big quality of filming and nice control over all the stuff like focusing, zoom, f-stop etc. But there came 2 problems. First and the most obvious, I have no money for those. But the other one was a purpose of this project... Except of giving a messages though the story or making another good film that gonna be good to watch with your friends and with other movie creators. There was one other aim... "To show that without money you can do very good stuff" and then I guessed that i need to find some alternative to using a great camera. Any way the biggest problem in here was that if you take not-professional camera or phone camera there is not much control... All the stuff like focus are been controlled automatically. The camera searcher the most obvious subject that you may wanna shot, and focusing at him. For example in never phones there is some control been added but not perfectly. So I wanted to get this control some how...
I decided to make in VFX. To shot 2 actors in frond of green screen separately, perfectly focused. Then use a program (blender) to blur each of those when needed... There is a test render stuff...

Here we are... Today the job was to reduce the noise in the render, witch isn't easy task. You need to know exactly what surd of look you must to get. Is there caustics needed or not? What sampling is more important Defuse, Glossy, Refraction etc.? And of course how much samples are the best and takes the smallest amount of time... Any way here is the render.
And this is what was a day ago with lot bigger noise... Any was now is (the render on the top) 320 samples and No caustics. Also added some dirt on the glass. (that mostly the deal why are refraction caustics were not needed anymore, the glass is to dirty to get light trough). Than added a touch of lens distortion for some reason, but i guess it's makes it look more like been made on camera.

^^^^ What is on the screen?^^^^

Train station made of glass in the middle of air on top of the building. WOW!!! Any way this was just an idea until we can see the render.
It taken time to invent the deal. I've taken size of my room and sizes of myself to make the design of the train. Than I drawn the proportional blue print for the wagon and using this made a model... After the model was done I realized that all the seats inside the train are too high poly. I couldn't use the train for example for the scene with the 3 buildings. So the deal was to make another version of less polygonal train. Actually it was not take too much time. For the main model I turned off all the modifiers that increases the geometry resolution. And for the seat I used decimation. So just first wagon in the train was high poly and all the rest were mid poly...
After I had the train I needed to take a pencil again and to draw the blue prints of the station. I knew that it must be high in the air on top of the city and nothing else. I was imagining huge places with a lot of seats for waiting. Anyway I made the station similar to those that close to the place I'm living in. Except of the rails here are on top of the train. When I've done the model in Blender, I assigned on it an glass shader for fun, but I so much liked the result so I leaved it as it is. The problem was to figure out how it been holden on such high and how the people getting there?
First problem I solved by just coping the ring that holding the train rails along the way. Of course I changed a shape a bit.
Second deal solved by the idea of putting huge building in the bottom of all this deal. And making a road that goes though it.. (you can see the peace of the road on the render).

When it been done I looked to the script of the movie and found there a scene of a news on the screens in the station.
There is the screen made also of glass... Anyway there is still something to fix.
1. The station is too clean
2. The screen is almost invisible.
3. The is no city around. (what should be by the script)
4. Where is people?
5. I will find more.

 Some new stuff...
As you may see, there is some new stuff. New design of train, some characters and of course some fun (made in texture paint on the car) There is another huge part of job will must be done for to make the project finished, but we believe and it's the most important part of the deal...

If you do something there is always some one who did this better, but there is no reason to cry of this or to leave because of this... You can always improve your self, by just liking your stuff and taking advices from people who does that better...u do something there is always some one who did this better, but there is no reason to cry of this or to leave because of this... You can always improve your self, by just liking your stuff and taking advices from people who does that better...

The another location... Finally got to making of this one... It is the Train station where all the story will begin... I guess that it's not a bad deal to actually make it from colored glass stuff, because it's future and it's may be possible than... Any way after I'll find the idea how does it stay in the air, on top of the city I will also do some scars on the glass as if this station was working for years non-stop...
Train station made of glass O.o !!! Did you ever felt this feeling when you losing something, or someone dear so you've got this hard depression morning without any desire to live... I remember it happened when i trowed  my first cellphone away... hahaha... However it made me think about real understanding of this think as losing hope and Wrong Hate to causes of this hope, I lost the sens...

So here is some cool stuff we've done today...

1. Rendered an surrounding texture to save operated memory.
This was very usable thing so yeahh...

2. We've done a dirt texture on the main building and rendered it out with the surrounding stuff...
here are those renders (Promo Posters)

And yeahh... this look weird a bit...

Comments please! :D

Hello and welcome to another UPDATE!!!

So today we went to add some new architecture... And also decided to create own prop file for every building, that if need to change something it will be done faster...

Started with adding some gates around the area...

Then added the building it self...

Wait, wait O.o where is the stuff on the roof?!

Of course added some stuff on the roof. :D

Can you find a face on this render?
